Biblical Conflict Resolution- Peace in a Pandemic

Meridian First Baptist Church has partnered with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors and the Road to Emmaus Biblical Counseling Center to serve the Treasure Valley with 30 hours of ACBC Fundamentals. Conference fee includes 30-hours of basic training over 3 weekends, lunch (each Saturday), refreshments and a student manual.
The final weekend (November 20 and 21) will host an advanced track for those who have completed the 30 hours and/or church and ministry leaders who want to attend the Biblical Conflict Resolution Conference only. We have adjusted our registration to $35, for those who plan to attend the final weekend and participate in the Biblical Conflict Resolution training.
This training will be led by Dr. Ernie BakerErnie has the privilege of serving as Pastor of Counseling at First Baptist of Jacksonville where he helps oversee pastoral care and the Grace Center for Biblical Counseling. He is a Certified Conciliator with The Institute for Christian Conciliation and teaches a number of conflict resolution courses along with doing conciliation. He is also a Fellow with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, a Council Board member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition. At The Master’s University and Seminary, he oversees the on-line Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Counseling degree and serves as an adjunct professor in the graduate degrees at the University and seminary.  It has been his privilege to teach biblical counseling and conciliation in numerous foreign countries.
The conference dates are:
  1. September 25 and 26
  2. October 30 and 31
  3. November 20 and 21*
Conference times:
  • Fridays: 5:45pm – 9:30pm
  • Saturdays: 8:30am – 5:00pm
*An Advanced Track with special guest Dr. Ernie Baker will be available for those who have completed the initial 30 hr. Fundamentals Training Course.

Conference COVID Policy

In the time of COVID-19 we are working to mitigate risk of transmission of COVID-19 at our events to the greatest extent possible while appreciating that the complete prevention of COVID-19 transmission opportunities is impossible. In our efforts to mitigate risk we are requiring all guests upon arrival to affirm all points of a pre-event screening and submit for a non-contact temperature check. Anyone who does not pass the screening or the temperature check will not be allowed to join us for the conference.
We also strongly advise that anyone who is considered “high risk” by the CDC does not join us for a conference in 2020.
Also, please be aware that Meridian First Baptist is promoting social distancing at our events to the greatest extent possible and anytime we are not able to fully social distance with 6ft of space we will be encouraging face coverings. So please come prepared with a face covering.
Symptom Checklist:
  1. Have you recently experienced any of the following symptoms? 
    1. Fever (100.4°F/38°C or higher) or chills.
    2. Cough that you cannot attribute to another health condition.
    3. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing that you cannot attribute to another health condition.
    4. Sore throat that you cannot attribute to another health condition.
    5. Muscle aches that you cannot attribute to another health condition, or that may not have been caused by a specific activity (such as physical exercise)
    6. Loss of taste or smell.
  2. Have you been in contact with an individual who has been ill with flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days?
  3. Have you been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 30 days?
  4. Have you been tested for COVID-19?
  5. Have you been tested for COVID-19 antibodies?
  6. Immediately prior to attending the conference, I consent to having my temperature taken by a staff member of MFBC
    1. Guests who answer yes to #1 or #2 will not be allowed into the event.
    2. Guests who answer yes to #3, #4 or #5 may be asked for clearance from a physician stating that they are non-contagious.
