VIRGIL SALTZ
Associate Pastor

I was born August 14, 1939 in Pawhuska, OK. By the grace of God, I was born again on August 14, 1956 in Alameda, CA. In 1966 I submitted to believers baptism and shortly thereafter started teaching the Junior Class in Sunday School. In 1967 I committed my life to the Lord for full time service and left Idaho to go to Pennsylvania to study at Baptist Bible College and Seminary. I graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Religious Education. My major was Theology with a minor in English Bible and Missions.

My first pastorate began in 1971 at Back Mountain Baptist Church in Noxen, PA. In 1975 I resigned and went to Houston, TX and helped start Southwest Calvary Baptist Church. 1976 found us in Pana, IL where I worked and served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Pana.

In 1981 I became the pastor of Grace Baptist in Moweaqua, IL and was there when, in 1986 the Lord called me to pastor the First Baptist Church of Roswell, ID. After 16 years there, I retired and found secular work to supplement my meager Social Security check.

In 2002 we started attending Meridian First Baptist Church and I taught an adult Sunday school class and became a deacon. Today I am an associate Pastor at MFBC all by the grace of God
